Jason graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He then earned his Juris Doctorate from Atlanta John Marshall Law School while working full-time.
Prior to beginning a career in practicing law, Jason had a very successful career in law enforcement in the North Georgia area. He began his career with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office by working as a detention officer in the jail. He then moved on to work with the Commerce Police Department after attending and successfully completing the Northeast Georgia Police Academy.
During his career with the Commerce Police Department, Jason was able to work and balance finishing his Bachelor’s Degree and decided to attend law school. While there, he rose through the ranks to become the supervisor over the Criminal Investigations Division as a Detective Sergeant. Throughout his tenure with the police department, Jason worked patrol, criminal interdiction, drug investigations, and general criminal investigations. He also was provided an opportunity to work as a DEA Task Force Officer for a period of time.
He has attended over 1600 hours of law enforcement training and has successfully completed the Standardized Field Sobriety & Testing, Drugs that Impair Driving, Drug Recognition Expert, among multiple criminal investigation classes specialized in drugs and serious felonies hosted and sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Internal Revenue Services, Georgia Bureau of Investigations, and the Meridian Mississippi Regional Counter Drug Training Facility to name a few.
The last two years of law school Jason transitioned into a different capacity in the criminal justice system by going to work with the Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office. There he worked as an investigator but was provided some very valuable experience in getting to work in the courtroom and practicing under the Third Year Practice Act.
Jason left public office in May 2018 to seek a career in practicing law. Jason continues to wear multiple hats in working at the firm by providing support to the three partners in their practice areas. Jason is well versed in criminal matters but has had a great rate of success in handling the civil matters that he is tasked with.
Jason comes from a very hard-working family. The work ethic and example provided to him as a child has given him the upper hand in finishing law school while working full-time and raising a family. Jason will out work most and is willing to put the time in and do what is needed for his clients.
In his spare time, he is a very involved husband and dad that coaches both of his children in their sports, coaches a travel softball team with his wife, loves to fish in the Gulf of Mexico and lives an active life. There is nothing that Jason doesn’t put his full efforts into and this shows through the work and dedication that he is willing to put in while working on cases.
