Child Support

Like Child Custody, Child Support can be addressed in an initial divorce action or in an action for modification.

Both parents are financially responsible for their children.  In Georgia, Child Support is determined by state child support guidelines.  The child support guild lines and worksheet are extremely difficult to interpret and require the assistance of an attorney.  The Court considers several different factors to determine the appropriate child support in a case:  income of both parents, earning potential of both parents, expenses associated with a child, health insurance obligations, as well as parenting time with the child, etc...  Ms. Carter can examine the financial Child Supportsituation as well as the other extenuating circumstances in the case and determine if a support deviation is necessary and in the best interest of the minor child.

When it comes to determining child support obligations, Ms. Carter will sit down and go over the financial situation in the case and give you an honest evaluation for  fair support order.
